Title:
ELECTRO-OPTIC DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013218234
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an electro-optic device suppressing adverse influences (degradation, contamination) on an electro-optic substance due to formation of an inorganic sealing material and having excellent moisture resistance.

The electro-optic device includes: a first substrate; a second substrate disposed opposing to the first substrate; an organic sealing material essentially comprising an organic material, which adheres the first substrate to the second substrate; an inorganic sealing material, which adheres the first substrate to the second substrate and is formed between an outer edge of the first substrate and the organic sealing material, in a frame shape enclosing the organic sealing material; and an electro-optic substance sealed in a region enclosed by the organic sealing material. As the inorganic sealing material is separated from the electro-optic substance by the organic sealing material, adverse influences on the electro-optic substance by the formation of the inorganic sealing material can be suppressed. As intrusion of moisture into the electro-optic substance is suppressed by the inorganic sealing material, the obtained electro-optic device shows excellent moisture resistance.
