Title:
ELECTRODE ON NEON TUBE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2717770
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent discharge from the end of an electrode to elongate the life of a neon tube by attaching a ring ceramics protection ring to the end of the electrode in a iron bell electrode without a junction part.
CONSTITUTION: A bell electrode 10 is provided in the adjacent to the end of a glass tube 31, which is the end of a neon tube, the glass tube 31 from which lead wires 17 are drawn is deposited on both ends of the glass pipe to form a neon tube. A ring protection tube 21 is attached to the end of the electrode 10. This protection ring 21 is formed from alumina ceramics, a calyx part having a larger outer diameter than the outer diameter of the main body is provided on one end of the ring main body part 23, the outer diameter of the main body is set to approximately the same as or a little smaller than the inside diameter of the end part, and the main body part of the protection ring 21 is so set as to be inserted in the tip of the electrode 10. End discharge of the electrode 10 is hard to be generated thereby and one part of the electrode 10 is prevented from being consumed extremely.
