Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode which is easy for anions, such as a hydroxide ion involved in a battery reaction, to pass therethrough with the aid of an anion-conducting material covering an active material and/or active material layer in a battery including the electrode, and which is arranged so that short circuit owing to dendrite can be suppressed sufficiently even after the repetition of a charge-discharge cycle.SOLUTION: An electrode comprises: a current collector; and an active material layer including an active material. The electrode further comprises an anion-conducting material. The anion-conducting material contains: a polymer; and a compound including at least one element selected from elements of I to XVII Groups of the periodic table. In addition, the anion-conducting material covers the active material and/or the active material layer. The compound is at least one compound selected from a group consisting of an oxide, a hydroxide, a layered double hydroxide, a sulfuric acid compound, and a phosphate compound.
