Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate dangerous on-furnace work of an operator and allow accurate measurement.
SOLUTION: This device is constituted with arm-shaped electrode holders 6 for clamping electrodes 4 and holding them vertically, an electrode holder support column 9 for liftably supporting the electrode holders 6 in horizontal position, turning means 10 for turning the electrode holders 6 about the axis of the support column 9 to move the electrodes 4 outside a furnace. In this case, in the moved position of the electrodes 4 outside the furnace, electrode supporting bodies 12 for receiving the tips of the electrodes 4 released by unclamping the electrode holders 6 and weight sensors (load cells) 13 for detecting electrode weights on the electrode supporting bodies 12 are arranged.
