Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the dependence on fine variation in production and provide a compact tuning circuit network by integrally forming an impedance matching circuit network and a coupling structure on the same printed circuit board.
CONSTITUTION: An assembly has a magnetron power source 10 generating an RF signal at 915MHz, Impedance of an incoming signal is matched with the impedance of a lamp by using a stub tuner. The impedance of the lamp 14 and that of a spiral applicator 15 are determined by measuring the impedance indicated with the stub tuner 12 on the reference surface 16 and suitably finding the complex conjugate of the impedance to an input terminal of the applicator. A power signal to the lamp is divided on the reference surface 16 so that a micro filament is equal to about 1/2 wave length. The extending part of half- wave length constitutes a balun impedance transformer and reduces 4:1 impedance. A lamp capsule 14 contains Hg, NaI, ScI3 salts. A coil 15 has the same rotating direction, the resistance end of a coupler has a gap of about 1/4 of compression wave length, and the capsule 14 is coaxially arranged between the couplers.
