To provide an electrolytic phosphate chemical-conversion method which is extremely advantageous in correspondence to large-volume small-sized components, is effective for certainly ensuring the electrical conductivity of an electrolytic tool with a workpiece, and is particularly important in mass-production facilities.
The method includes: using a phosphate chemical-conversion treatment bath which includes phosphoric acid, phosphate ion, nitrate ion, a metal ion forming a film as a phosphate, a metal ion forming a film as a metal together with the phosphate and substantially does not include positive and negative ions except the above ions; and forming a film 4 containing the phosphate on the workpiece 2 in a negative electrode electrolysis using at least one of zinc, iron or nickel as a positive electrode 3, and the workpiece 2 as a negative electrode. An electrolytic tool 1 contacting the workpiece 2 does not carry the workpiece 2, but is placed in an electrolytic tank and is contacted with the workpiece 2. The negative electrode part of the electrolytic tool 1 contacting the workpiece 2 does not directly face the positive electrode 3 through the treatment bath.
