This electromagnetic flowmeter is adapted to detect a flowrate of a fluid to be detected. The electromagnetic flowmeter includes a damping means for performing an arithmetic operation of damping with respect to a flowrate signal detected by means of an electrode on the basis of a preset damping amount. The damping means can change the damping amount for performing the arithmetic operation of damping depending on the detected flowrate such that the damping amount is made to be large when the flowrate is small and the damping amount is made to be small when the flowrate is large. As a result, the damping amount can be dynamically changed to adequate one depending on a flow speed. Therefore, when the flow speed is small and a detection signal is small, the damping amount can be made to be large so as to stabilize the damping amount.
