Title:
ELECTROMAGNETIC FLOWMETER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3405617
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To precisely measure a flow rate under a high magnetic Reynolds number condition, by arranging two pairs of electrodes having a predetermined angle with respect to a line passing through the center of a pipe line and between a pair of saddle type magnets, on the outer surface of the pipe line at angles expressed by a specific equation.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of small-size saddle type magnets 6 are arranged symmetrically so as to be opposed to each other, a cylindrical pipe line 2 in which high conductive fluid 4 flows, intervening therebetween, two pairs of electrodes 7 are arranged around the pipe line 2, symmetrically. The electrodes 7 are arranged on the outer surface of the pipe line 8 at angles ±θe which satisfies 0.5.(90degθm/2)≤θe≤90deg-θm/2. The magnets 6 should have dimensions which satisfy θm≤90deg. L≤D where L is length of the magnets 6 longitudinal of the pipe line 2, θm is angle of arc, and D is inner diameter of the pipe line 2. With this arrangement, the flowmeter can be small-sized, and alleviate affection by deterioration and demagnetization due to oxidation of the magnets in use at a high temperature, thereby it is possible to precisely measure a flow rate.
