Abstract:

To provide an electromagnetic suspension contactlessly detecting a magnetic pole position, and allowing reduction of cost.

A magnetic pole position detection device 11 detecting the magnetic pole position of a permanent magnet 9 of a movable element 7 is provided in a stator 2. The magnetic pole position detection device 11 comprises: a detected plate 12 installed to the stator 2; a magnetic pole position-detecting magnet 13 installed to the tip side of the detected plate 12; and a strain sensor 14 installed to the base end side of the detected plate 12. The strain sensor 14 detects bending strain of the detected plate 12 generated by attraction/repulsion force between the magnetic pole position-detecting magnet 13 and the permanent magnet 9 of the movable element 7. Thereby, the magnetic pole position detection device 11 can detect the magnetic pole position of the permanent magnet 9 corresponding to the bending strain.
