Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic wave generation device which is advantageous for downsizing, and a method therefor.SOLUTION: An electron bunch 11 emitted from an electron gun 14 is tilted by a high frequency deflection cavity 16 and made incident to an incidence plane 12a of an electromagnetic wave generation member 12. The incidence plane 12a is arranged vertically to a direction of movement of the electron bunch 11. The electron bunch 11 is made incident to the incidence plane 12a at the same tilt angle as a radiation angle of Cerenkov radiation due to incidence to the electromagnetic wave generation member 12. An electromagnetic wave generated in the electromagnetic wave generation member 12 is emitted from an emission plane 12b of the electromagnetic wave generation member 12 which is tilted in the same direction as the electron bunch 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
