Abstract:
To provide an electron emitting element capable of obtaining a stable and satisfactory amount of electron emission by securing a large number of routes for a current flowing from an electrode substrate to an electron accelerating layer.
The electron accelerating layer 4 of this electron emitting element 1 contains insulator particulates 5 and conductive particulates 6a each having an average particle diameter smaller than that of the insulator particulate 5, and has a conductive particulate layer 16 containing conductive particulates 6b each having an average particle diameter smaller than that of the insulator particles 5 between the electron accelerating layer 4 and the electrode substrate 2.
