Title:
ELECTRON GUN HAVING FIELD EMISSION TYPE COLD CATHODE WITH FOCUSING ELECTRODE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3293605
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron gun having a field emission type cold cathode for preventing cracks in the second insulating membrane caused by excess stress on the focusing electrode and insulating membrane to secure the electrical reliability between the focusing electrode and the wiring of the gate electrode.
SOLUTION: In the tip end of a pot shaped portion 12 mounted around a opening 10 where a Wehnelt cylinder 4 is contacted with a focusing electrode 42, a run-off portion 8 is formed right above a wiring of a gate electrode 45 that has a width larger than the width (w) of the wiring of the gate electrode 45 and a thickness larger than the thickness t of the wiring of the gate electrode 45. Further, an electronic gun 1 is assembled such that the run-off portion 8 is located right above the wiring of the gate electrode 45.
