To simplify structure, to speed up, to transfer stably and to sterilize evenly and wholly the whole face of a resin bottle 2.
A bottle holding means 28 is provided with a rotary support shaft 38, a neck gripper 70 mounted at the bottom end of the shaft 38, a rotor 30 for rotating/moving (revolving) the gripper 70 and a rotary means (a segment gear 54, a pinion gear 46, a discoid cam 66, etc.) for rotating the gripper 70. Sterilization is performed by irradiation with electron rays from the irradiation window 19 of an electron ray irradiation apparatus 18 while a resin bottle 2 is held and transferred. The bottle 2 is rotated by the rotary means while the bottle is moving in front of the window 19 to wholly and surely sterilize the bottle 2. Then the bottle is reversed to return the gripper 70 and the bottle is discharged.
