To improve the convenience and security performance of an approval system by confirming an electronic document by using a portable terminal.

This electronic approval system is configured by connecting a user management server 30 and a document management server 40 to a communication network to register an electronic document transmitted from the communication terminal of a document preparation user in the document management server, and to transmit the electronic document to the portable terminal of an approval user for obtaining approval. In transmitting the registered electronic document to the portable terminal of the approval user, the document management server 40 acquires the information of a file format or the size of a picture and/or the number of pixels which can be treated by the portable terminal, and converts and transmits the electronic document so that it can be adapted to the file format or picture which can be treated by the portable terminal by a conversion module.
