To provide an electronic clinical thermometer having superior usability for the user, capable of dispensing with a separately provided switch for lighting backlight, and capable of changing the operation by means of a single electric power source switch.
This electronic clinical thermometer for detecting the temperature of a measured portion and for calculating the body temperature, based on a change with the lapse of time to be displayed, is provided with the electric power source ON/OFF switch, a body temperature measuring means, and a display part having backlight, the backlight is turned on for a prescribed seconds for each depressing of the electric power source switch, based on a prescribed operation in the depressing of the electric power source switch, within the time interval, capable of displaying the measured body temperature on the display part.
