Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform display output that does not cause a misconversion by converting the character code of a special character in a sent mail into a character code that is used by a receiving end based on a specific table.
SOLUTION: When a receiving end CPU 2 starts mail read processing based on a program stored in a storage medium 8a, mail data that are stored in a storage device 8 is read to a work area of a RAM 4. The mail address of a sending source among the mail data is collated with a class correspondence table in the device 8 and if the address is included in the item of 'the other party address', machine type data that correspond to the address are acquired. The character codes of special characters that are included in the mail data are replaced with correction codes by using code conversion data that correspond to the machine type data from a character code conversion table in the device 8 and the converted mail data are converted into image data and displayed on a displaying part 3.
