PURPOSE: To simplify a control circuit and a mechanical structure and to make the cost of the device lower in a pen-type electronic printer by a method wherein a stroke recording pen is provided on a movable part of a flat motor and driven thereby.
CONSTITUTION: To take an example, data signal Ds in response to key "H" of a keyboard being inputted into an electronic control circuit 24 the circuit 24 takes out amounts of displacement on the X-axis, the Y-axis of a stroke recording pen 14 to character "H" arranged in a memory 25 and pen-up or pen-down informations on the 2-axis thereof. An amount of the movement of the present position (Xo, Yo) of the pen 14 up to the next position is calculated and outputted to the flat pulse motor 9 as indication signals Xs, Ys. When the motor 9 is driven, a movable element 10 moves and shifts the pen 14 as 0→1→2. Simultaneously the circuit 24 outputs a pen-down indication signal Zs to an electromagnetic solendoie coil 12 and the pen 14 is pushed on a printing blank and penned down against a spring 15.
