Abstract:

To provide an electrooptic device which uses the light emitted by a light source with high efficiency.

The display device (electrooptic device) 1 has a light source means 2 equipped with a plurality of openings (light projection part of sport light sources) 25, a microlens array plate 3 equipped with a microlens array 31 formed by arraying microlenses 32, and a translucent half-reflective type liquid crystal panel 4 equipped with a plurality of openings (translucent window part) 45. This display device 1 is so constituted that light beams from the openings 25 are converged on the openings 45 by the microlens array 32 and then the variation rate of pitches of the openings 25 due to heat, the variation rate of pitches of the microlenses 32 due to heat, and the variation rate of pitches of the openings 45 due to heat are equal to one another.
