PURPOSE: To improve the stability of the electrification of a photosensitive body by removing residual toner before an electrifying member and providing a cleaning member to which a voltage is impressed.
CONSTITUTION: In a photosensitive drum 1 after a transfer sheet is peeled therefrom, residual toner sticking to the surface of the photosensitive drum 1 is recovered by the cleaning roller of a celaner. The toner is scraped by a cleaning blade 3a to be recovered. At this time, the cleaning blade 3a to which a voltage of -1000 V for example is impressed by a constant voltage power source 4 electrifies the surface of the photosensitive drum 1 preliminarily, that is, applies the same negative charges of the electrification caused by the main electrifier. Thus, the ununiform surface of the photosensitive drum 1 becomes uniform, by the partial application of positive charges of the opposite polarity to that of the electrification, by a transfer charger. Thereafter, the photosensitive drum 1 comes into contact with the electrifying roller 2a of the main electrifier to be subjected to the main electrification.
