To provide an excellent electrophotographic member production method and an electrophotographic member produced by the method.
The electrophotographic member production method uses an agitation device that agitates and disperses coating composition, the device having a container with a circular cross-section which is capable of storing the coating composition to be agitated, a rotary shaft disposed in the center of the container, and an agitation tool that is attached to the rotary shaft and rotates at a high speed and its radius reaches the proximity of the internal surface of the container. Also in the method, the agitation tool is driven at a high speed at a peripheral speed of 20 m/sec or higher, in order to firmly attach the coating composition to the internal face of the container by means of centrifugal force, and the coating composition agitated and dispersed while rotated in the form of a hollow thin film is used in order to form a coating layer on the surface of the electrophotographic member.
