To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having excellent cleaning property and durability and capable of forming a high-quality image even for long-term use by specifying the ranges of hardness and surface free energy of the photosensitive layer.
In the photoreceptor 1 comprising a conductive support body 3 and a photosensitive layer 7 formed on the conductive support body 3, the photosensitive layer 7 is specified to have ≥20 Vickers hardness (HV) and 28 to 35 mN/m of surface free energy (γ). The obtained photoreceptor has excellent wear resistance, a long life for use and excellent cleaning performance because foreign substances hardly deposit on the surface of the photoreceptor or foreign substances are easily made to leave from the surface.
