PURPOSE: To obtain an electrophotographic receptor having high sensitivity in the wavelength region of about 400W800nm and superior printing resistance, by adding a specified disazo pigment to a photosensitive layer.
CONSTITUTION: A disazo pigment represented by formula I [where R1 is ≤4C alkyl or alkoxy; R2 is alkyl, alkoxy, dialkylamino, nitro or halogen; n is 0W2; m is 0W3; Z is a benzene ring or a naphthalene ring; and Y is formula II, formula III or formula IV (where B is a ring selected from a benzene ring, a naphthalene ring, an indole ring, a carbazole ring and a benzofuran ring each condensed with the benzene ring; each of Ar1 and Ar2 is a benzene ring; a naphthalene ring or a dibenzofuran ring; R3 is alkyl, carboxyl or its ester; and R4 is H, alkyl or phenyl)] is used. The pigment includes the compound represented by formula V. A photosensitive layer contg. a charge generating substance such as p-diethylaminobenzaldehyde-(diphenylhydrazone) and said disazo pigment dispersed in a binder is formed on an electrically conductive substrate to obtain a receptor.
