Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase photosensitivity without deteriorating dark attenuation characteristics by incorporating a specified amide compd. into a photoconductive layer. CONSTITUTION:An amide compd. represented by formula I as a sensitizer is incorporated into a photoconductive layer contg. an inorg. photoconductor such as zinc oxide and a resin binder such as an ethyl methacrylate-acrylic acid copolymer. In formula I, X is an electron donative group whose Hammett's substituent constant is negative, n=1-5 and each of R1 and R2 is H, an aliphat. group, etc. A compd. represented by formula II may be used as the compd. represented by formula I. The compd. represented by formula I may be used in combination with a sensitizing dye such as a prescribed cyanine dye and the photoconductive layer can be formed by a coating method.
