To provide an electrophotographic toner having a structure of raw materials with excellent heat resistance, allowing production even by a heat melt-kneading and pulverizing method although a vegetable-based resin is used as a binder resin, and having good charging property, mechanical strength, low temperature fixing property and oil-less fixing property.
The electrophotographic toner contains at least a binder resin and a coloring material, wherein the binder resin contains a polylactic acid (PLA) and a cellulose ester (CE) resin, the CE resin includes a 2-4C acyl group as a substituent and satisfies expression (I): 2.7≤Y+Z≤3.0 (where Y represents a substitution degree of a propionyl group and Z represents a substitution degree of a butyryl group), and the compounding mass ratio of the PLA to CE resins PLA:CE ranges from 95:5 to 70:30.
