Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image with proper gloss and to improve the offset resistance even when a temperature difference occurs in a fixing roller by preparing a toner having a specified storage elasticity modulus at a specified frequency in a specified temperature range.
SOLUTION: The toner has 2×103 (Pa) storage elasticity modulus (G') at 0.1 Hz frequency at a temp of 90 to 110°C, preferably 95 to 110°C. The binder resin constituting the toner is for example, polyester resin, polystyrene resin, vinyl resin, epoxy resin, polyetherpolyol resin or the like. As for the binder resin, two kinds of resins having different mol.wts. (a binder resin A of low mol.wt. and a binder resin B of high mol.wt.) are preferably used. The binder resin A has 2,500 to 6,000 number average mol.wt. and 8,000 to 25,000 weight average mol.wt., while the binder resin B has 4,000 to 10,000 number average mol.wt. and 40,000 to 250,000 weight average mol.wt. The weight ratio of the resins A to B is 20:80 to 95:5.
