To provide an electrostatic type ink jet head which can suppress the influence of an electric field of another channel without weakening an electric field of own channel and can accurately record with high resolution even in a multichannel head having discharge parts disposed in high density, and to provide an apparatus and a method for recording using the same.
A guard electrode is provided separately from an ink guide between the ink guides at the recording medium side of a discharge electrode. The inner edge of the guard electrode opposed to the ink guide is retracted from the ink guide side from the inner edge of the guard electrode opposed to the ink guide, and is disposed forward to the ink guide side from the outer edge of the discharge electrode.
