Abstract:

To provide a structure having a honeycomb body that can be heated, which attains high level stability in structure and high level effectiveness in purification of exhaust gas, using only a small number of support pins.

The structure includes a first honeycomb body 1 having a wound or coiled stack and a plurality of conduits 3 can flowing therethrough. A first end 4 of the stack is connected with an electric terminal 5, and a second end 6 is connected with an electric ground 7. The stack has a plurality of metal foils electrically connected to each other and structured at least in a certain area. The honeycomb body 1 has support pins 9 for being connected with a second honeycomb body 10, and the support pins 9 have space of at least 25 mm outside an inner area along the profile of the stack. By a method for inserting the support pins 9 into the honeycomb body 1 and a device for receiving the honeycomb body 1 and/or positioning the support pins 9, the support pins 9 can be fitted to the honeycomb body 1.
