Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator apparatus that employs a new configuration made of a material except steel and that uses a lightweight main rope with high mechanical strength.SOLUTION: An elevator apparatus 11 lifts/lowers a cage 13 and a balance weight 14, which are each ascendably/descendably provided within a hoistway 12, like a well-bucket by a main rope 15 looped over a hoist 20. The nain rope 15 has a load bearing member that comprises a wire 25 made of a carbon material.
