Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator apparatus that can shorten buffer stroke amply while ensuring safety.SOLUTION: In an elevator apparatus, a car is suspended by suspension means. A brake unit causes braking force to act on the car via the suspension means. Excessive speed detection level that changes according to a position of the car is set in an excessive speed monitoring unit. The excessive speed monitoring unit causes the brake unit to perform braking operation when speed of the car reaches the excessive speed detection level. An abnormal acceleration detection mechanism puts an emergency stop unit into operation when acceleration that exceeds a preset set value occurs in the car.
