Title:
ENCAPSULATED TONER AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07230183
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the electrophotographic encapsulated toner containing an attachable polymer superior in adhesiveness to original toner particles and good in the environmental stability of chargeability and to provide the manufacturing method of this toner having the unaffected chargeability of a colorant without impairing the fixing performance and mechanical strength of a binder resin.

CONSTITUTION: The vinyl polymer is attached to the surfaces of the original toner particles through the product obtained by reaction of monomers having glycidyl groups with amino groups present on the surfaces of the encapsulated original toner particles followed by polymerization of the monomers to cover the surfaces of the particles with the vinyl polymer, and the monomer is represented by the formula in which X is H or methyl, and Y is methylene or carbonyl.
