Title:
END SURFACE SEAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3812621
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the early occurrence of a settling phenomenon in a seal member by providing, on the seal member, a seal lip which is pressed by the pressure of a sealed fluid, when an operating member is stopped by the contact with an end surface part or stopped by a stopper, and brought into close contact with the working member.
SOLUTION: In the state where the end member 7 of a working member 6 moving toward an end surface part 3b is stopped by the contact with the end surface part 3a of a shell 3, the seal lip 22b of the seal member 22 of an end seal 21 is pressed by the pressure of a pressure chamber 9 that is a sealed fluid pressure and closely brought into contact with the end surface 7a of the end member 7, whereby a sealing effect is attained. Therefore, the sealing is performed in the state where the seal lip 22b of the seal member 22 is in close contact with the end surface 7a of the stopped end member 7 with a prescribed contact pressure. Accordingly, the seal member 22 having the seal lip 22b is never strongly nipped between rigid members, so that the early occurrence of a settling phenomenon in the seal member 22 can be prevented, and the stable seal performance can be ensured for a long period.
