Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an endopeptidase 24.15 inhibitor containing a specified thiazolidinecarbonylamino acid derivative as the active component, excellent in endopeptidase 24.15 inhibitory effect and useful as an analgesic, an antirheumatic, a therapeutic agent for osteoporosis and a therapeutic agent for Alzheimer type dementia.
CONSTITUTION: This inhibitor contains a compound of formula I [R1 is H, a lower alkyl, OH or a lower alkanoyloxy; R2 is H, a lower alkanoyl or benzoyl; R3 is H; R4 is H, a lower alkyl (substituted with OH, carboxy or mercapto, etc.) or a phenyl-lower-alkyl (substituted with OH or a lower alkoxy); R4, together with R3 may form a pyrrolidine ring; R5 is carboxy (which may be converted to an ester or an amide); A is a 1 to 3C alkylene] or its salt, e.g. a compound of formula II as the active component. In addition, this inhibitor is administrated preferably in an amount of 0.1 to 5000mg/day, especially 1 to 1000mg/day calculated in the compound of formula I.
