Abstract:

To secure the use of an energized-type shape memory alloy in a proper state by determining the relation between a wire diameter and an electric current value.

The wire-shaped energized-type shape memory alloy 1 which is composed of an alloy having a composition containing 46.7% Ni, 45% Ti and 8.3% Cu and expands and contracts according to the presence or absence of energization is used within the range of an electric current value which satisfies, when x(μm) is a wire diameter and i(mA) is an electric current value to be applied, 0.7y≤i≤1.2y in the range of 38≤x≤48, where y(mA) is the function of x computed by y=0.3x2-22.3x+504.2.
