Abstract:

To recover the equivalent torque of an exhaust brake without separating an engine and a driving wheel from each other in time of the establishment of operating conditions in this exhaust brake.

When the presence of operation on an exhaust brake, clutch connection, and accelerator opening θ is zero as well as engine speed Ne is more than the specified idling speed, it is so judged that operating conditions in this exhaust brake are established (S1), and whether an amount of regenerated kinetic energy is accumulable from the output of a pressure accumulating level sensor which detects this kinetic energy as a piston position of an accumulator or not (S2), and when the operating conditions of the exhaust brake are materialized and the accumulation is possible, usual accumulator braking control for recovering the kinetic energy of a vehicle is started (S3). Almost simultaneously with this, a means interrupting any operation of this exhaust brake temporarily, for example, as to such as this exhaust brake is driven by an electrical means, a cut relay or the like intercepting a power supply to this exhaust brake is operated, whereby any operation of the brake is temporarily interrupted (S4), and thus a recovery percentage in the kinetic energy is improved.
