To provide an energy system capable of widening a variable width of a thermoelectric ratio in thermoelectric power generation than ever before while keeping a good combustion state in an engine.
An energy system includes: an engine 1; an exhaust heat recovery means 11; and a power generating means 21. The energy system also includes: an accommodation 41 accommodating the engine 1 and the means 11 and 21; a ventilation means 42 for discharging air in the accommodation 41 to the outside of the accommodation 41; a ventilation amount adjusting means 54 for adjusting a thermoelectric ratio in thermoelectric power generation that is a ratio of a generated heat amount by the exhaust heat recovery means 11 to a generated electric energy by the power generating means 21 in such a manner that a ventilation amount by the ventilation means 42 is adjusted in response to a direction of change in a requested thermoelectric ratio in thermoelectric power generation when the requested thermoelectric ratio in thermoelectric power generation ratio that is a ratio of a requested heat amount from a heat load 15 to a requested electric energy from an electrical load 23 changes with time; and a NOx reducing means for reducing NOx. The NOx reducing means is configured of an EGR amount adjusting portion 56 for increasing an EGR amount compared with an EGR amount before the requested thermoelectric ratio in thermoelectric power generation changes when the requested thermoelectric ratio in thermoelectric power generation rises.
