Abstract:
To simplify the structure of a water pump in a cooling device of an engine in which the discharge amount of the pump can be regulated.
An engine cooling device 1 is structured so that a water pump 10 is equipped with vanes 46 housed in a pump chamber 44 rotatably and a cooling water (coolant) discharged from the pump chamber 44 with rotation of the vanes 46 is circulated to water jackets 4 and 5, wherein the wall 52 mating with the vanes to bound the pump chamber 44 is provided displaceably in the direction of the rotary shaft of the vanes 46, and a driving means displaces the wall 52 in accordance with the operating conditions.
