To provide an engine hood and a platform plate of a work machine capable of saving a space required for installing a machine body and ensuring excellent heat exhaust property of the work machine while improving access property at inspection time by a simple configuration.

This work machine is provided with an engine cover 1 whose one end is pivoted at a peripheral fringe of an opening part 8, a duct plate 2 fixed and arranged in parallel with the engine cover 1 and provided to open and close the opening part 8 on an inner side of an engine room 9 more than the engine cover 1, an exhaust duct 3 formed between the engine cover 1 and the duct plate 2 to circulate cooling air to the outside of the engine room 9, and the platform plate 4 arranged to be adjacent to one side of the duct plate 2 to form a part of a wall face of the exhaust duct 3 when the engine cover 1 is closed and covering an upper face of the opening part 8 partially.
