To properly lubricate a crankshaft while reducing a load of an oil pump.
Lubrication oil is supplied to a thrust bearing supporting a crankshaft from an oil pump 23. The oil pump 23 is provided with a relief valve 51 switchable between an actuation state that a relief function is enabled and a stop state that it is disabled. Furthermore, lubrication oil is supplied to the thrust bearing via a variable orifice 52. A control unit 53 estimates a bending deformation amount of the crankshaft from an engine rotation speed, and calculates a load acting on the crankshaft from the bending deformation amount. The variable orifice 52 is controlled so that the lubrication oil amount is reduced when a crank load is small. Since the consumption amount of the lubrication oil is thereby suppressed, the relief valve 51 is controlled to be brought into the actuation state. The variable orifice 52 is controlled so that the lubrication oil amount is increased when the crank load is large, and the relief valve 51 is controlled to be brought into in the stop state for avoiding the shortage of the lubrication oil amount for the other lubricated part.
