Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine structure capable of improving flexibility in design of a cavity, while reducing noise during combustion.SOLUTION: An engine 1 is equipped with a cylinder 2; a piston 10 reciprocating in the cylinder 2; and a cylinder head 4 blocking the cylinder 2. In the engine 1, on an outer peripheral surface of the piston 10, first piston ring 20, a second piston ring 30, and an oil ring 40 are provided successively from the cylinder head 4 side. The first piston ring 20 has an annular shape provided with an abutment 21. The abutment 21 of the first piston ring 20 is made to be a neck 51, and a space surrounded by the first piston ring 20, the second piston ring 30, the outer peripheral surface of the piston 10 and an inner peripheral surface of the cylinder 2 is made to be a body 52, thereby configuring a Helmholtz resonator 50A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
