Abstract:
To provide an engine reducing cooling loss with a simple configuration.
This engine 100 includes ignition plugs 51, 52 for igniting an air-fuel mixture in a combustion chamber 13, and a control means 60 for controlling the ignition plugs 51, 52 to ignite the air-fuel mixture after a compression top dead center. A mechanical compression ratio at a piston top dead center position is set to a high compression ratio such that knocking occurs when the air-fuel mixture is ignited at the compression top dead center. Engine output is thereby secured and cooling loss can be reduced.
