PURPOSE: To eliminate the continuous feeding of the following envelope during the carrying of the envelope (the first envelope), which is being picked up now, and to eliminate the generation of picking miss and skew of the envelopes, and to always stably carry the envelopes even in the case where a pick roller is arranged over the whole width of an envelope in an envelope feeding drive for image forming device, in which a flap of the envelope is opened for lateral feeding.
CONSTITUTION: In an envelope feeding device for image forming device, in which a flap 21 of an envelope 20 is opened for lateral feeding, when the following envelope 20 is fed to a position, in which the pick roller 1 contacts with the following envelope 20, drive of the pick roller 1 is stopped so as to prevent the continuous feeding of the following envelope during the carrying of the envelope 20 (the first envelope), which is being picked up now, and the first envelope 20 is carried by a carrying roller positioned in the downstream in the envelope carrying direction.
