Title:
ENZYMATICALLY TREATED WASTE NEWSPAPER PULP, BASE PAPER USING THE PULP, AND COATED PAPER USING THE BASE PAPER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003201690
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide enzymatically treated waste newspaper pulp given by treating deinked waste newspaper pulp with a cellulase enzyme having CMC- decomposing activity, to provide base paper given by using the pulp, and to provide coated paper using the base paper.

This enzymatically treated waste newspaper pulp is made by subjecting the deinked waste newspaper pulp to enzymatic treatment with the cellulase enzyme having the CMC-decomposing activity and beating the treated material until the beaten material has drainability of ≤400 ml. The cellulase enzyme having the CMC-decomposing activity is preferably added to the deinked waste newspaper pulp in such an amount that a CMC activity of 0.10-25.0 unit/g of absolute dry weight of the pulp is given. The base paper is made out of pulp slurry containing the enzymatically treated waste newspaper pulp which is beaten so as to have the drainability, wherein the base paper contains the enzymatically treated waste newspaper pulp in an amount of 30-100 mass% based on the total pulp. The coated paper is made by applying a coating layer or layers to one or both surfaces of the base paper.
