Abstract:

To provide an epoxy group-containing polysiloxane from which a cured body having a sufficient curing property with film thickness of the order of millimeters is formed without adding an acid generator etc., and without substantially condensing silanol groups to one another, and to provide a method for producing the same and a curable composition of the same.

The method for producing the epoxy group containing multifunctional polysiloxane of which the weight-average molecular weight is in a range of 1,000-100,000 includes: a step where an epoxy group-containing alkoxysilane with a definite molecular structure, a two-functional alkoxysilane with a definite structure, is allowed to react with a polydimethylsiloxane with a terminal hydroxy group with the weight-average molecular weight in a range of 300-5,000; and a step where the reaction product in the step is allowed to react with water. The polysiloxane obtained by the production method, and the curable composition containing the polysiloxane and a metal chelate compound are also provided.
