A DFE section 22 is provided with a plurality of taps and applies an equalization processing based on decision feedback to a DFE input signal 208 being the same signal as the filter output signal 206 to output an equalizer output signal 204. An LMS algorithm section 24 calculates a tap coefficient of the linear filter section 20 and the DFE section 22. A determining section 26 stores in advance a prescribed threshold value and compares a received delay spread value 200 with the threshold value. When the delay spread value 200 is the threshold value or over, the determining section 26 determines the operation of the DFE section 22 and when the delay spread value 200 is smaller than the threshold value, the determining section 26 determines the stopping of the operation of the DFE section 22.
