PURPOSE: To provide the equipment management retrieval system which reduces the cost required for constitution and operation of the system.

CONSTITUTION: A host computer 20 to which a mapping data storage device 4 is connected, a graphic display device 60 on which mapping data is displayed through the host computer 20, and an optical filling device 120 which is connected to the graphic display device 60 and where detailed picture data is stored are provided. The graphic display device 60 transfers control commands, which are received in the period from reception of the optical filing device control start command to that of the optical filling device control end command, from the host computer 20 to the optical filing device 120 and transfers detailed picture data from the optical filing device 120 to the host computer 20.
