Abstract:
To efficiently erase a residual image on a storage phosphor sheet.
The narrow storage phosphor sheet IP2 after reading is conveyed to an erasing part B, and the residual image is erased. In such a case, a control part 37 causes only an erasing light source 102 to be turned on in an erasing area EB where the storage phosphor sheet IP2 is conveyed (passes through), and causes the erasing light sources 102 in other erasing areas EA and EC to be turned off. The erasing light source 102 which does not contribute to erasing (which does not irradiate the storage phosphor sheet IP2 with the erasing light) is not turned on, whereby erasing energy is made small. That means, power consumption is made low.
