To provide an improved method for removing the ink accepting region of the printing surface of a lithographic printing master through a cleansing stage, which can easily be automatable, is quick, environment-friendly, useful and simple.
Preferably, under the state that a printing master is installed on the plate cylinder of a printing machine, a plasma is directed as a plasma jet to a printing surface. This method cleanses the support of the printing master and makes it possible to re-cycle the cleansed support for the formation of another printing master. More preferably, the following stages such as a stage i, in which an image forming material is formed by providing an image recording layer on the support, a stage ii, in which a printing master having a printing surface including an ink accepting region by exposing the image forming material as an image is and, when necessary, developing, a stage iii, in which a printing process starts, and a stage iv, in which cleansing is executed by employing an atmospheric plasma, and then the stages i to iv are repeated all on place.
