Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the ladle excellent in erosion resistance and strength by covering at least a part in the inside of a metal-made casing with a porous ceramic providing the erosion resistance to molten metal, impregnating molten cast iron or cast steel and forming an integrated composite layer. SOLUTION: The casing 1 for carrying molten aluminum is made of FC250 cast iron and the lining 2 covering the inside of the casing 1 is the one impregnating the molten iron into the alumina-made porous ceramic and the composite structure integrating the metal and the ceramic is formed. The porous ceramic has three-dimensional network structure and high porosity, and is used as a filter for filtrating molten iron of cast iron, etc. The erosion resistant coating layers 4 arranged so as to further improve the erosion resistance to the molten aluminum, are formed on both of the surface of the lining 2 and the outer surface of the casing 1 by coating TiO2 on the outer surface of the casing.
