Abstract:
To provide a modern escalator economical and good in design by using optical fiber cable as a luminaries for the escalator.
A resin guide 6 and a fixing guide 7 of hand rail guide 3 of an escalator are made of light permeable resinous material, and a belt-like luminous body 8 of optical fiber or the like emitting light from a side surface is provided in the resin guide 6, and an end of the belt-like luminous body 8 is connected to a light source 12. It is more effective to make a handrail itself transparent or semi-transparent. Also, a belt-like luminous body 8a connected to the light source 12 is fit into a groove part 14 of a skirt panel 15 to light steps 13 from a transparent cover 16.
