Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ethanol engine system that can use as fuel an aqueous solution of ethanol in both engine start and steady operation of a predetermined rotational speed and a predetermined load.SOLUTION: An ethanol engine system S includes a storage tank 4 of an aqueous solution of ethanol, a reformer 2 for producing a reformer gas from the aqueous solution of ethanol supplied from the storage tank 4, and an engine 1 that has a combustion chamber into which the aqueous solution of ethanol stored in the storage tank 4 is directly injected and in which the reformer gas supplied from the reformer 2 and ethanol contained in the aqueous solution of ethanol and the reformer gas burn to generate power in the combustion chamber.
